Does anyone have any recommendations for an all inclusive Caribbean resort with kids? Looking for a resort that has at least above average quality food.
Beaches is fine. But you can stay at a wider stretch of beach a few hotels down, get a huge 2-5 bedroom full condo room, not have to worry about reserving pool/beach chairs, rent a car (or get cabs), eat at much better restaurants, and still have plenty of $$$ leftover to pack a suitcase.of good wine to drinkā¦m
Hmmm 2-5 bedroom condos Thatās all inclusive?? Which hotel is that? (OP asked for all inclusive btw).
Iāve been 4 times to Beachs TC and have
never reserved a pool or beach chair and have always had plenty open and available.
Never rented a car
I donāt know about āmuch better restaurantsā since Iāve eaten at many of the local places. Many of the places at beaches are avg. but the best 3-4 are up there in quality, and itās free. And corkage is free.
Always packed a suitcase of wine with me
I mean there are certain exceptional non all inclusive options on T&C, donāt get me wrong. But i donāt know of any all inclusive 2-5 bedroom places thatās that cheap and have that great set of amenities.
Also Op mentioned kids. beaches has a kids club, a wave pool, water slide/park, and basically caters to kids from 6 weeks old to teens.
Sure if u donāt have kids. Go to the Aman resort up north.
Definitely want the all inclusive aspect of the vacation. We really donāt want to have to worry about cleaning, cooking, entertainment, etc., especially with kids.
Beaches Turks, to me, is just enormously overpriced for what you get. You are really paying a massive premium for the ability to let your kids roam around all day, basically. At Beaches price you can get a beachfront villa with a butler and cook on many islands.
We booked a suite at Finest Playa Mujeres in December, and it will be our first time in the Caribbean. We are going with 3 kids 4 and under and the place looks perfect for both kids and adults. Great reviews too.
Beaches Negril is excellent. (But itās three or four years since we were there).
We took the grand kids a couple of times. Of course itās the Sandals formula with all that implies. (Without the kids we much prefer Swept Away for the vibe and lower pricing but thatās another story).
Beaches Negril - staff, kids activities etc excellent. Food is , well, Sandals.
Best bet by far is the beach cafe.
Iāll post a cpl of pics when I get to my desktop.
Canāt speak to Beaches Turks and Caicos , but based on Beaches Negril may not be what the OP wants. Itās the Sandals package with daycare. So food is not exactly gourmet. It is decent but not above averagE, as requested by OP. I say this having had a couple of great stays at Beaches Negril with the grandkids; but sure as heck wasnāt about the food. Weāve also had terrific vacation on Grand Turk but that was in beachfront apartment and just the two of us!
We took our kids to the Franklyn D resort in ran away Bay, Jamaica a couple of times (near Ochoa Rios). Itās been over a decade. The food was serviceable - their Jamaican restaurant was quite good (but no kids allowed). And each room comes with a nanny
iād say 10 are bad⦠i avoid them all together
2-3 are like bars / shaved ice / casual spots⦠so not really āfoodā but snacking
3-4 are āsolid/goodā especialy for lunch with a beer. (the jerk chicken, schoners, the indian food spot, bella pizza spot)
They have 3 adult only, those 3 along with 1 other spot are quite good, and certainly āabove averageā relative to general spots on the island (Sky, sapodilla, the sushi place, and the french place with good steaks forget the name).
So yah on the whole Beaches is for kids / facilities⦠not the food but they do have some above average spots⦠and once we figured that out, we basically only go to those 6-8 places, and no complaints on the food.
if you ate at Marios or some of the other crappy buffet places, yes, uāll dislike it⦠greatly
And Beaches T&C overall is >>>>>> better than Beaches Jamaica. Tho i wouldnāt be sad to be at Beaches Jamaica right about now either.
Beaches Negril we mostly ate at Stewfish the Beach restaurant. The was fine to good, and the setting was perfect. Eating most anything with bare feet in the sand is not at all bad! The food was never an issue (with careful choice of the available restaurants) but the OP seems to be looking for something better.
