All Inclusive Caribbean Report With Kids

Does anyone have any recommendations for an all inclusive Caribbean resort with kids? Looking for a resort that has at least above average quality food.

Beaches resort. Turks and Caicos.

19 restaurants. Some are mediocre. But the 4-5 good ones are Way better food than you expect. 3 adult only places.
You can bring wine.

And the resort / beach / location is stunning.

Beaches is fine. But you can stay at a wider stretch of beach a few hotels down, get a huge 2-5 bedroom full condo room, not have to worry about reserving pool/beach chairs, rent a car (or get cabs), eat at much better restaurants, and still have plenty of $$$ leftover to pack a suitcase.of good wine to drink…m

Hmmm 2-5 bedroom condos That’s all inclusive?? Which hotel is that? (OP asked for all inclusive btw).

I’ve been 4 times to Beachs TC and have

  1. never reserved a pool or beach chair and have always had plenty open and available.
  2. Never rented a car
  3. I don’t know about ā€œmuch better restaurantsā€ since I’ve eaten at many of the local places. Many of the places at beaches are avg. but the best 3-4 are up there in quality, and it’s free. And corkage is free.
  4. Always packed a suitcase of wine with me

I mean there are certain exceptional non all inclusive options on T&C, don’t get me wrong. But i don’t know of any all inclusive 2-5 bedroom places that’s that cheap and have that great set of amenities.

Also Op mentioned kids. beaches has a kids club, a wave pool, water slide/park, and basically caters to kids from 6 weeks old to teens.

Sure if u don’t have kids. Go to the Aman resort up north. :joy:

Thanks Mark!

Definitely want the all inclusive aspect of the vacation. We really don’t want to have to worry about cleaning, cooking, entertainment, etc., especially with kids.

We have had good experiences at several Iberostar resorts.
Not fans of Riu.
Liked the Hilton in Jamaica.
Liked Club Med in Florida

Haven’t been to any of them since COVID , so it has been a few years.

I’ve heard good things about the Hyatt Zivas.

Beaches Turks, to me, is just enormously overpriced for what you get. You are really paying a massive premium for the ability to let your kids roam around all day, basically. At Beaches price you can get a beachfront villa with a butler and cook on many islands.

We’re going to Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana in July. They have a full waterpark onsite and it is supposed to be great. WHen are you looking to go?

Winter break Feb 2023

We booked a suite at Finest Playa Mujeres in December, and it will be our first time in the Caribbean. We are going with 3 kids 4 and under and the place looks perfect for both kids and adults. Great reviews too.

Beaches Negril is excellent. (But it’s three or four years since we were there).
We took the grand kids a couple of times. Of course it’s the Sandals formula with all that implies. (Without the kids we much prefer Swept Away for the vibe and lower pricing but that’s another story).

Beaches Negril - staff, kids activities etc excellent. Food is , well, Sandals.
Best bet by far is the beach cafe.
I’ll post a cpl of pics when I get to my desktop.

Can’t speak to Beaches Turks and Caicos , but based on Beaches Negril may not be what the OP wants. It’s the Sandals package with daycare. So food is not exactly gourmet. It is decent but not above averagE, as requested by OP. I say this having had a couple of great stays at Beaches Negril with the grandkids; but sure as heck wasn’t about the food. We’ve also had terrific vacation on Grand Turk but that was in beachfront apartment and just the two of us!

We took our kids to the Franklyn D resort in ran away Bay, Jamaica a couple of times (near Ochoa Rios). It’s been over a decade. The food was serviceable - their Jamaican restaurant was quite good (but no kids allowed). And each room comes with a nanny

So Beaches in T&C has i think 21 restaurants.

i’d say 10 are bad… i avoid them all together
2-3 are like bars / shaved ice / casual spots… so not really ā€˜food’ but snacking

3-4 are ā€˜solid/good’ especialy for lunch with a beer. (the jerk chicken, schoners, the indian food spot, bella pizza spot)

They have 3 adult only, those 3 along with 1 other spot are quite good, and certainly ā€˜above average’ relative to general spots on the island (Sky, sapodilla, the sushi place, and the french place with good steaks forget the name).

So yah on the whole Beaches is for kids / facilities… not the food but they do have some above average spots… and once we figured that out, we basically only go to those 6-8 places, and no complaints on the food.

if you ate at Marios or some of the other crappy buffet places, yes, u’ll dislike it… greatly

And Beaches T&C overall is >>>>>> better than Beaches Jamaica. Tho i wouldn’t be sad to be at Beaches Jamaica right about now either. [cheers.gif]

Ziva Cap Cana

Not sure how you define ā€œfullā€ but I wouldn’t call it that

Beaches Negril we mostly ate at Stewfish the Beach restaurant. The was fine to good, and the setting was perfect. Eating most anything with bare feet in the sand is not at all bad! The food was never an issue (with careful choice of the available restaurants) but the OP seems to be looking for something better.

Agreeeeed… eating with feet in the sand, u just can’t complain huh! [cheers.gif] [cheers.gif]

so the OP asked for:

  1. all inclusive
  2. with kids

I don’t know of many options that are much nicer.

if you removed either one of those two requirements, tons of options open up. flirtysmile

Well, it looks big in the photos but, doesn’t it always? champagne.gif
