I’ve never thought it necessary… I see the worm as just something to keep the cork in one piece while the ah-so does the work. As long as you keep the worm from breaking the sidewall of the cork, you’ll be fine - no need to get it perfectly centered.
LOVE this video. The music, the jowly old white guys, the fancy Bordeaux glamor shots, the pouring and swirling, the Durand makes it all happen! “The length on it’s great, that’s what I like the most about it. . . . Up front the nose is a little bit odd, but when you get into it, when you really put it in your mouth, the length on it is extraordinary.” Awesome.
Hey. I am one of those jowly old white guys. Actually THAT jowly old white guy. It is a good video however to show off the device. The nice part about the video to me is the old Bordeaux I was able to drink. Mark was generous with supplying old bottles of 1970 and 1975 First Growths so that we could play with the device.
He should contact Mark Taylor. They are pretty good about fixing things. Anthony. If you will email me, I will put you in contact with Mark personally.
I watched that video and realized that, had I stayed in Atlanta, I could have been one of those jowly old white guys…I coulda been a contendah! Notoriously low fill on one of those old Moutons that flashed by. With all of the Durands sold, Mark can surely afford better ullage than that. Hell, he could have afforded better ullage BEFORE the Durand. Don, you brought that bottle, didn’t you?
