AJ Adam Dhroner Hofberg Kabinett 2012

I cannot remember any Kabinett drinking so well at this young age. It is not at all ready or in any sense mature, but the balance here is almost perfect. Initially a slight whiff of sulphur. Acidity on the high end and fruit profile primarily in the lemon/lime department. Although I suspect this has a good dose of RS, it is so well balanced by fruit and acidity, that it almost drinks like water. I will look for MG’s. This really should be cellared, but it will take some character not to open another bottle soon [worship.gif]

A beautiful wine, I agree. Very elegant, though not austere and super-high in acidity (as I’ve seen some characterize the 2012 Kabinett). The Spätlese was equally pretty for those of you who require a bit more weight!

The 2010 version of this is stunning.

Had some great 2012 kabinetts from Fritz Haag, Willi Schaefer and Weiser-Künstler during a trip to Mosel last week. All three winemakers said that 2012 is an excellent vintage for kabinett (and spätlese).

Thanks for the note Morten. The 10 and 11 Kabinetts were wonderful, and it sounds like the 12 will perhaps surpass those!
