Have the agrapart brothers split? looks like agrapart et fils is now “Pascal Agrapart” while Fabrice has setup “Agrapart Avize”
So apparently,
In the early 2000s, judging that he and his brother did not possess the same goals as to the direction of the estate, Pascal began the long-term process of dividing the estate in two. – Beaune Imports
And, champagne-agrapart.com now redirects to champagnepascalagrapart.com
What a bummer. How have they divided the work? Any idea which I should follow?
Pascal and his son Ambroise…
I do not think Pascal’s brother was actively involved in the winemaking.
Do you know much about Fabrice’s operation? does he purchase grapes?
I’m trying to remember when they officially split. Early 2022 is when I recall hearing a decent amount of talk about it. I don’t know what level of involvement Fabrice had in the ‘Agrapart’ wines, but since at least the mid-2000s, I believe it was mostly related to ownership and being a share holder. At some point, after Pascal came to be the lead for the family business, it didn’t sit well with Fabrice and plans to divide the estate began. Family bickering or battles are not uncommon with smaller Champagne producers. Godme, Billiot, Marie-Noelle Ledru, Seleque, Pierre Peters etc… are all examples of this. Sometimes things worked out and a solution found, other times, the domaine split things up and each side went their own way.
