A night on our Driveway

I know it seems like I go to all the glamour spots. St. Louis. My driveway. Our neighbors came over after we put the kids to bed and we drank till 2AM. First a non descript close out bottle of 2010 Rose. Wholesale $20 and pretty good IMO.

1962 Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Epeneaux
Very nice. Bottle was leaking and significant ullage. Little fruit left but beautiful burgundy nose. Earth and forest. Acidic finish that grew as the night went on.

1996 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots
Beautiful wine. Great nose of black fruit and a touch of earth. Nose was bright and well balanced. Long wine with great depth.

1990 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert
In the beginning a little pruny but blew off as the wine opened. Juicy was what Maureen called it. Nice break after a few burgs for sure. Well balanced with fruit still forward. I can’t imagine what the Chapelle is like now. ex cellar from RWC.

you linked to the individual tasting notes of the person clicking the link.

Ok fixed. Would it please the court if I remind them I’m an idiot. One day I’ll get the hang of this posting thingy.

cool note on the 62 epenot, guess the decades long slow ox (low ullage) helped the wine ;D.

Itwas good but not great. I’d be drinking any 62 I have.

But yeah it was cool. I do like to gt older examples of wines I collect.

Is there anyone who still thinks there’s a problem with 96 red burg?

figured you were relegated to the garage for all the wine buying, hence a night on the driveway. Nice notes.

Thanks for the Arnoux note. Been looking at those bottles in the cellar and thinking…

hahaha. Nice thing about my wife Doc? She loves wine and pays no attention to the cost.

Before I get flamed that’s not the only nice thing.

My favourite red burg vintage for drinking at the moment.

I love driveway, porch, and yard tasting!

Great notes!
