A couple of great wines at L'Apicio

Met up with a friend and our wives for dinner at L’Apicio in NYC. Couldn’t make it to the no corkage nights, but $25 per bottle wasn’t bad for enjoying these with a terrific dinner.

  • 1995 Château Léoville Barton - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien (7/16/2014)
    Just outstanding. Wonderful nose, plenty of fruit balanced with tannins. Graphite, some leather, some dirt. Nice long finish. Plenty of life ahead, wish I had more. (94 pts.)
  • 2008 Didier Dagueneau Pouilly-Fumé Pur Sang - France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Pouilly-Fumé (7/16/2014)
    Dynamic, complex wine with super acidity and a nice balance of fruit. Terrific with grilled octopus, and while a full bodied wine, it didn’t overpower the food. Finish that went on and on… (92 pts.)

Heading there on Monday night with a group of 27 people for a no corkage dinner…can’t beat the place for a 3 course family style dinner @ $65 with free corkage!

When I saw the OP, I wondered if you were the “friend”.

Would have happily been but alas not…good to see I am not the only fan of the restaurant though :slight_smile:
