'97 Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Heimbourg

Very nice indeed! Like a Spatlese but a bit thicker and denser, but also weightless, balanced, delicious, and elegant. Like so many Z-H wines, this has aged very well indeed. It’s 13% alcohol is totally invisible.

Does Z-H still make them on the luscious side, like this one? I haven’t had any recent vintages.

The label says “Heimbourg” and in small print “Turkheim”, so I presume Heimbourg is a small single vineyard in the town of Turkheim, though none of my maps of Alsace show it.

Nice note!

And yes, Heimbourg is a vineyard next to Clos Jebsal in Turckheim.
