That’s hard to gauge. Maybe they would have charged more for the 750 so that it’s the same price per oz. Only in shrinkflation can you really tell
I see what you are getting at, Tony,
But I don’t think it’s the case with these bottles. No one, at least not me, is paying MSP in any case. Plus it isn’t shrinkflation, as its simply market dependent. In some cases, like Hibiki 17, which to be clear, I have not bought for a while, it’s the same price for the 700 or 750–just depends on where the retailer got their stock.
I’d actually like to see standardised sizes in the linear sense as well as volume. i.e. max length and diameter for regular sized bottles. To ensure they fit in the racking. Come to think of it a max weight as well.
Yes… eliminating the goofy “reverse taper” bottles would be another plus.
You used to get a pint or quart of ice cream. Now the “pints” are 14 oz and “quarts” are 28 oz.
When it comes to ice cream, it should be sold by weight as the volume is easily manipulated by the amount of air mixed in the finished product.
It’s called overrun and there are legal limits, but then there are classifications that are pretty easily identified in the ice cream aisle.
