$145 a pound machine-sliced, $175 a pound hand-sliced at Despaña Foods in Manhattan and Jackson Heights, Queens, and at Fairway for $160 a pound.
That’s expensive ham. But delicious.

Neal, not sure if you are aware that there are other forums besides Asylum, but there is this one:
Epicurean Exploits
Food - recipes, reviews, and discussion
Do they have a search function?
I’ll wait for the hind legs. I think the paleta is less than $100/lb at La Tienda (but you have to buy the whole shoulder, bone in)
EDIT: They’ll take your deposit now on the whole jamon (for $100/lb)
Great news, I love that stuff. Like no ham you have ever eaten.
Couple years ago I brought home about 1/2 pound vacusealed from a small store in San Sebastian. Broke it out for a small gathering at our house. Needless to say I had forgotten how good it was and proceeded to eat it all before the first guest arrived. Unbelievably good
My kinda guy!!!

Absolutely! Forget about being fashionably late. Apparently it pays to show up at least an hour early for events at the Moores’… you know, so you can “help out”.
