Leon & Sons website does that annoying thing where they leave sold out bottles in search results.
That’s no help.
I stared at some Hermitage for too long and 2020 sold out as did St. JO.

I am big fan of his Nebbiolo and Sangiovese.
Interesting. Maybe I get a different promotion since I’m a returning customer…
So those of us who ordered today just activated that same promo, I reckon.
Not wine but Prenuevo Has $400 off a full body MRI scan. With my family history, I figure it’s a great investment to help insure I’ll be around to drink as much of the wine I’ve spent the last 30 years collecting as possible. Gotta schedule this weekend

Comprehensive whole body MRI scan for preventative care | Prenuvo
There’s little or no benefit in whole body MRI in the absence of concerning symptoms, tumor pre-disposing syndromes or other concerning lab values like PSA.
Presumably they’re using low resolution, fast acquisitions, using AI/ML to enhance image quality, and then using some sort of computer aided detection to enhance their sensitivity. This may allow them to obtain exams in a cost-effective manner but will present several other issues.
You’re either going to 1) (most likely) find nothing 2) (less likely, but not rare) the algorithm is too sensitive and finds either false positives or something equivocal that buys you a ton of additional work up that will be not $400 off 3) (less likely but not rare) the algorithm is not sensitive enough and doesn’t detect something that is there (false negative). 4) (unlikely) find something really bad that in retrospect could have been found due to symptoms and/or lab tests but wasn’t worked up well or wasn’t found earlier 5) (least likely, but probably what you are looking for) find something earlier than it could be detected by other means and could be treated.
We do whole body MRI for a tiny subset of patients that have a mutation in a gene called p53 (Li-Fraumeni syndrome) and no one else.
UCLA where I trained had (and likely still has) an “executive/concierge” health program where people can get annual imaging, including PET/CT in some cases, which is likely still not backed by evidence and exposes patients to relatively high doses of radiation.

Whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (WB-MRI) is currently recommended for cancer screening in adult and paediatric subjects with cancer predisposition syndromes, representing a substantial aid for prolonging health and survival of these subjects...

If you look at the data from these two studies, something like 29% in the 2019 study were “abnormal” but only 2-3% in the 2021 study actually had histology proven cancer, so a positive finding is much more likely to be something that isn’t bad but warrants a ton of additional work up than catching something early. The 2019 study also found 16% false positives.
Given extremely low pre-test probability in a patient population (asymptomatic adults), positive findings are significantly more likely (but not always) going to be false positives.
From a financial perspective I would love MRI screening of asymptomatic patients to be a thing given that they’d almost certainly be negative and would dramatically increase the volume of imaging, but as of now there’s not good evidence to support it. This doesn’t stop doctors from inappropriately ordering the scans, but thats an entire topic in and of itself.
Basically there’s a really low chance of actually good outcomes (finding something serious, early) and a high chance of bad outcomes (negative study, but is it really negative?), (false positive or equivocal thing that needs to be worked up), (something really bad that is beyond treatment).
