Thank you. I appreciate all your insight. I’m not just looking for tumors. I have a lot of lower extremity things going on in hips, knees, ankles, etc. add some lifelong gastrointestinal challenges I’ve dealt with my whole life that I wouldn’t mind getting a baseline on. Also, I am about three years away from Medicare. I think there’s a good chance. I’m gonna need something done with a hip or knee replacement. If I can do things to ensure I delay that until having Medicare coverage it would more than pay for the cost of this scan . Do you think there’s value and having those things looked at?
Absolutely not. Those scans aren’t diagnostic for things like that; they’re only optimized for tumor detection. I would have a lot of reservations about the interpretation as well. They’re almost certainly a waste of money. If you have medical problems that need treatment you should discuss them with a doctor who would order the correct exams. You live in a city with likely the best musculoskeletal radiology department in the US if not the world, so I’d personally seek care there. As far as GI issues, MRI is certainly not the first exam you’d use to work them up.

Big Hammer is local to me. I bought from them once a few years ago and went in for the pickup. It’s a warehouse operation, not retail, and they do some direct importing as well as domestics.
At the time, the warehouse was in inland San Diego and not temp controlled so potentially warm. It’s possible things have changed since then.
Not to add fuel to the Prenuvo fire, but I just got a " $750 Off Whole Body Scans This Weekend Only!" email:
Terms apply. Booking must happen between 12:01am (PT) Friday, November 29 and 11:59pm (PT) Monday, December 2. Scan must be completed on or before December 31, 2024. Not stackable with other offers. I never had it and I am not big Cali Cab drinker, but the price looks good.
World Of Wine is generally has good priced stock. And you can subscribe to Vivino Premium (cancellable at any time) and get free shipping.
My understanding is that the best use of this approach (not this company per se), albeit overpriced at this point in cycle, is to establish baseline while relatively healthy.
That will allow one, when later on not healthy, to rule things out by referencing back to your scans as a baseline.
Have not done it yet, but curious if you would agree, Michael.
The problem isn’t the price; it’s the quality of interpretation and quality of the imaging which I would generally find quite underwhelming. I can say a lot more about this topic but don’t want to pollute this thread.
