2022 Scarecrow release

Not sure a $600 will ever have a value proposition but agree on your sentiment/takeaway

Is 2023 suppose to be good? Glad to see they kept it at $600 at least though given 2022 wasn’t the best year.

Those large format prices are a big
ā€œWe really don’t want to make these, but for those of you who have to have it here you goā€

2016 double mag hammered at HDH in December for $5500 pre-vig. Don’t recall what release was but if it was also 12 x 750ml, it would’ve been $4800

I’ll have some 3-packs to share. PM with interest.

Jason, I do not have any familiarity with the wines at Scarecrow, but here is a thread started by @Roy_Piper, whose opinion I respect a lot, regarding the 2023 vintage in Napa. This thread was started at the end of harvest in 2023, and I have heard a lot of positive comments regarding 2023 from others.

My first vintage was 2018. My last vintage will be 2023. Good vintages to start and end on, I suppose.

They didn’t want the 2021 either.

How much at Costco?

Still haven’t received an email… I’ve purchased a case the last 2 offerings. No way I would get snubbed, right? People are dropping off the list it seems. I want the 2023

I have a 3 pack to share. I am offered on the 20th. Please DM if interested.

IIRC, the Novato store is selling 3 bottles for $2600. I don’t remember the vintage.

Checking in on the 2011 vintage tonight will report back

Would love to hear your thoughts. I have always enjoyed the 11’s in my cellar, fewer producers in that vintage, but solid wines!

I would say the fruit was lacking a bit. Excellent finishing, tannins well integrated, but I felt the body was a bit thin. Stored upon release so no issues with the bottle. Will try another sooner than later

Just got mine…$600

Is Feb. 18 the first wave or is it Feb. 20?

18th

Thank you for this!

Not typically going to get any fruitier at this point, right?

Honestly, im not that into ā€œfruit-forwardā€ myself and i have been struggling with pulling the trigger on some Scarecrow for the cellar. Also, I was married in 2011 so I have soft spot for that vintage and this sounds like a perfect match.

Your note sounds exactly like what we find in a lot of the 2011’s in our cellar. A fun wine to celebrate with AND enjoy with food, right now!

Cheers!

It’s the 2021. And there’s a 3-pack of 2011 Screaming Eagle for only $8K.
