2022 Kendric “Petaluma Gap” Marin Pinot Noir

I think I’ve purchased more bottles of Kendric wines than any other CA producer.
They have always been at the very top of my QPR list.
2022 was a somewhat problematic vintage weatherwise for the Estate Pinot.
Stew’s usual blend is 115, Pommard and Mount Eden/37 clones in equal proportions. In 2022, the hillside Mt Eden clone shown bright above the other two so it made the majority share of the blend.
One barrel 115, one barrel Pommard and seven barrels Mt Eden.

2022 Kendric “Petaluma Gap” Marin Pinot Noir
Light/medium ruby red color.
Fine nose of violets, sandlewood, cassis, earth and a light herbal touch.
Spicy red berry led to a long, slightly firm finish of tea and floral undertones.
Quite a lip smackin’ aftertaste!
Beautiful luscious fruit with a perfect balance of acid.
I’ve tasted most (if not all) vintages of this wine over the years.
IMO, this is the best Pinot that Stew has made.
PLEASE, do not hesitate to try this wine.

I’ve had a couple of vintages in the last 10 years. Consistently delicious.

They don’t make much of it but their viognier has a lot of Condrieu attributes.

BTW, this low octane Pinot comes in at a cool 13.3% alcohol.
Another plus…
