This one is a perennial QPR front runner.
This year, it may have outdone itself.
Absolutely love the direct and pure bramble and black berry/boysenberry nose.
Really generous dark fruit flavors. Some cigar box and mineral qualities. Not much in the way of tannins. Medium finish length.
This is a completely delicious Zinfandel that is drinking great right now. I honestly think it would hold its own blind against elite Zinfandel producers at twice the price or more (this was under $20 at Costco).
Run, don’t walk.

Also agree this one’s a winner for the money. Not overdone.

OK, bought four at Total Wine for $21.00 each, my Costco did not have it. I usually pick up a hand full every year.

My long time go-to Zinfandel, but the last few years I have gotten a bit away by exploring other Zins, especially OVZ’’s from various producers ( including Seghesio!). Thanks for the review and the reminder, Nate. I just ordered 3 bottles. Cheers.

How was the alcohol? I believe this one clocks in at 15.6%.
Been drinking these for over 20 years back when they were $14/btl. Consistently good cellar defender year in and year out.

Zin under $20 doesn’t get better than this.
Don’t recall, didn’t look, but it doesn’t drink hot at all.
