2021 Scarecrow Release Protocol

I will get a 3 pack splitting with two friends 1 a piece. Worry about next year next year Not buying much 22 vintage save money for the heralded 23.

As I previously have mentioned here good time to get that Bordeaux 20 and 22 vintage

I don’t know anyone with an allocation that is taking it this year, me included.

All three resellers I have dealt with in the past have also passed at cost. Looks like the ceiling has been reached.

I love Scarecrow - have been on the list forever. I’m not buying this year. Plenty of super high quality prior vintages that you can buy for less all in.

Purchased my 1-pack allocation. I expect will be the final year (first was 2017 vintage)… will see.
Maybe will hang on til 2023 (isnt that a good vintage for Napa?)

I’ve got it sitting in the cart, $2,055…. re-running the pro and con list.
Use tax on shipping🤣

100% out for me

Soooo many bottles beat scrow at this price

Did anyone else have to sit in “line” while waiting for the site to load? I kind of chuckled thinking they were using that to create a sense of urgency.

I think its pretty on par for current cult napa offerings at this price, but agree that the “discount” on retail from buying through the waitlist is basically gone now. You have to really want to buy and drink scarecrow at this price. You can’t buy with the expectation its going to double in price in a year (like many older vintages). I wonder how many more years before they start shipping directly to retail…

I’m still getting my allocation this year b/c its my daughters birth year, but this might be the last. I also think its a little interesting to have both the 2019 and 2021 on each side of the fire. Will be a cool tasting in 20 years.

I will also hold for 2023 skip 2022 unless its 750 then out forever

Hope I do not get put in the penalty box for 5 years as someone has mentioned when skipping a vintage

I bit for a 3pk. I had a friend who wanted the Mag to display as a cellar trophy… I mean for that money you could almost get a 3pk of 1st growth mag’s.

That all said I really enjoy scarecrow and I value it like any other 1st growth… but if it keeps creeping above enpremier pricing, I’m not sure I’ll keep buying.

less than 10 seconds when I ordered during 1st tranche

If you skip 2022, don’t expect an allocation for 2023.

They’ve been pretty consistent if you skip a 1st label release.

Getting back on the list should take less time one would think based on current price

Thanks, we will see what the future holds. I will be just as happy with an Ausone etc.

So the base price of the wine is not a factor in your considering an increase “reasonable”? Interesting.

Perhaps we can buy the wine cheaper in commerce corner

3 previous buyers I know not buying today; 2 of them were flippers. Number 3 just couldn’t see paying the $$$$ anymore .

I can’t believe it, but I’m passing. Been buying for years as well.
