2021 Peter Michael Next Week Any Info

Mailer next week. I don’t see much discussion on the board about these wines much. Any thoughts on next week’s release

One of my favorites every year. Consistently excellent at a (compared to other wines of similar quality) reasonable price. The reds are my preference but if you like Chardonnay, definitely give them a try.

I’m generally not enthralled by the pinots but love everything else. In fact, we opened a '95 Les Pavots a couple of weeks ago that more than held its own against a 2001 Latour (and an extremely fine '95 BV Tapestry). I enjoy the chards best at 7-14 years from vintage, and next week we’ll load up on the those and round out the order with the Pavots.

Fellow Peter Michael lover here.

each year, I try to portion out my purchases to fit my permitted spending…I tend to focus on the chards but their sauvignon blancs are brilliant, perhaps my wife’s favorites!

What don’t you like about the Pinot

I find they tend to be a bit “bigger” than I typically want my pinot to be. That’s not to say I have never enjoyed them- there’s been a few over the years that I’ve really enjoyed, but generally speaking, I’d rather allocate my resources to the whites and cab blends which I am confident I’ll enjoy every time.

Thanks, I was hoping you’d say that. I like them on the bigger side

Thanks for the comments - I’ve just joined their list after enjoying some older Les Pavots and some younger chards so this is all super helpful.

Second time ive been offered an allocation. Im interested in the chard’s (which ive tried before) and potentially the Les Pavots, although ive never tried it.

I have not seen any scores for 2021.

Offer is live

Always a kick in the budget-pants.

I think this is a released later today

My release is Thursday 20th July

Good lord, these wines are getting too expensive for me to keep buying them. If I were to take my full allotment, the bill would be over 15K. If I had not been buying their wine for the past 20 years, I’d pass altogether. I suppose I’ll continue to get one of each, but not sure how much longer I’ll be doing that.

This was my “offer”.

Anyone buying their 2022 open offering. I put my order in for some Chards this am.
WA had scores out for them today as well

Yes, I’ve bought a few, but by the time I ordered La Carriere had sold out, which was what I really wanted. I like the wines enough to pay the prices. The shipping is a bit ridiculous though,

I passed on the 22’s, waiting on the 23’s

I picked up some La Carriere and Les Pavots this time. As much as I like the wines, prices and shipping might keep me from buying next time.
