I didn’t but I think it was $112
I am slowly picking up some 2019s as they become available here (in Canada). So far:
- Gianni Brunelli;
- Le Chiuse;
- Salvioni.
Have you tried the Brunelli or Chiuse?
I have tried both. Both will be excellent but for now, Brunelli has another level of complexity to it right now.
I was fortunate to taste a number of 2019’s in Montalcino a few months ago. Many were quite stunning. I have a couple of mixed cases coming over in October:
Le Chiuse
Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona Pianrosso
Conti Costanti
Caprili
Sorry to hear this, the 2001 is drinking incredible right now, the perfume is insane.
Has anyone tried and/or considered the 2019 Fuligni?
On my to buy list. Came highly recommended from a Brunello maker that appears upthread.
I’m still waiting for the Kirkland Brunello to show up. I’m sure it’s young vines, but it’s one heck of a deal for under $20, and it doesn’t require much bottle aging.
It was one I tasted at Enoteca di Piazza earlier this year. My palate was kind of done by then, but I could tell the fruit was very pure and overall was an excellent wine. I didn’t buy any there because I was at my shipping limit, but I have some coming from another source. Buy if you can find it.
Has anyone had any '19s recently? I went deep on '19s so have checked in on a few over the last ~6 months and they’ve all been very pleasurable. Baricci has been my favorite and probably the best young Brunello I’ve had. A lighter expression with wonderful acidity and bright red cherry. Conti Costanti was fantastic as well - a denser version of the '16 but approachable now. Can’t wait to see how that one evolves. Fuligni and Casanova di Neri (white label) have been very good as well. Looking forward to hearing more about the upcoming '21 releases.
Several 2019’s tasted in October in Tuscany were uniformly very good.
Recently had the white label Casanova Di Neri. It was very good. Shockingly accessible and pretty filled out. I was impressed.
I’ve had a few recently from Altesino, Ragnaie, baricci, il poggione and all were really bright and fruit forward and very drinkable. Baricci has been on a roll since 2016 and is putting out some of the best Brunello for the price imo.
Selfishly you should try the Le Chiuse and let @J_Patrick_Lynch and I know ![]()
I’ve had it! But it was at Le Chiuse.
They say tasting while on holiday clouds your judgement, so… no notes!
I would not complain about any of those three bottles

As did I, at Le Chiuse…and yes, I agree…something about tasting at the winery, in Montalcino, just makes the wine seem, I don’t know, more ethereal?
No notes but all the wines where fabulous I to tasted at the house when the wines first came out. Bought a case le chiuse i m speaking of.
Most memorable was the town where patrick recommended where the owner bought the town and kept it in its original form pulled the roofs and hid the facility. It is a real marvel.
Had so many tastings and the vintage is spot on. I understand 21 is a vintage to get into.
