My second Arnot-Roberts in as many days and I see that Herr Bueker has posted an A-R note so let’s keep the party going, shall we?
I think this may be the only Ribolla I’ve had that WASN’T a skin contact wine (and thank goodness for that).
Really interesting. It’s just the right amount of aromatic and perfumed on the nose, with delicate white flowers, dried peach, the barest hint of almond skin, and a nice saline slate seam that only becomes more prominent with airtime. The palate is well-balanced, with a light richness buoyed by crisp acidity into a snippet of orange peel on the finish. Northern Italian delicacy meets California sun.

A-R seems like a perfect Berserker winery. Not sure why they don’t get more play here.
I think because some of the past wines were too lean based on tasting notes and one bottle of '13 Santa Cruz chard I tried that was a bit shrill.
But since joining the mailing list in 2017, if there was one word to describe the lineup of wines, it would be joyous.
Agreed. If one likes lean wines I’d expect AR to be top of their list.
I enjoy their Cabernet and Syrah but the Trousseau is what does it for me. Quaffable for days.
There have been some wines that I found shrill, but just figured there would be more play here.
My only thought is that they’re sliiiightly on the pricy side for what may not be clearly defined value for some folks. I occasionally wince at the prices, but have never regretted it.
Recent addition to their list and I have to say, so far, everything’s been great.
