I started it with the Pinots, so this is the first time it has affected the Cabernet release but not the first time we have done it. The cost of shipping was just too high on 1-2 btls.
Shipping is free !
Free to the customers, but not to the winery (where Will works).
Holy moly! Check out the fine print at the bottom of the release notice!
“…Pinot and Chardonnay where we saw great quality and quantity in 2017. The wines ripened at much lower sugar levels too so there is great balance in the wines where we are seeing the lowest average pH for any vintage we have ever produced.”
In for 2 Lore, 2 HL, 2 Panek, 1 Calistoga, and 3 Napa.
Wanted to buy more but REALLY trying to maintain a semblance of a budget, especially with knowing that the 16’s are shaping up to be fantastic wines, and that there are many more releases from worthy producers in the comings weeks/months…
I was distracted and opened a 2014 Lore, thinking I grabbed a NV.
D’Oh!
But, super fabulous. Supple, very well integrated oak, great fruit/structure balance…enjoyable even at this young age. Head and shoulders above the other wines at the tasting we went to.
I am already a fan, but if anybody is on the fence about Lore, go crazy if you can.
