Nose: Leather, black balsalmic, cherries
Palate: Green pepper, balsalmic (sans vinagre), herbs (rosemary, hint of corrienader) black cherries, leather, Niçois olives, black cherries, graphite…wonderful acid, gives it a lively feeling.
After 6 weeks no drinking (kidney and thyroid tests), I was in the mood for a Bandol. Yes, still far too young, but since I am a slow sipper, I just let this open up in the glass. All I am missing is some roasted lamb and rosemary… Feeling summer in Cannes even though it is 57F, drizzling in soth-central Indiana.
Edited to add: Cassis replacing cherry, basil-menthol notes on finish.
