I got a case of this on BD 17 for $199. I ordered it because of their write up, which said “No ice in our wine.”
This wine is excellent, before you get to the QPR. A right bank Bordeau Bordeaux Blend of 38% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Franc, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Malbec. Currently drinkable with a short decant. Lots of complexity well blended into a seamless whole. Berries, meatiness, and earthy power. I am not a malbec fan, but the 2% in this wine seems to give it a little extra kick. Red berries, cherry and herbs. This will not last until BD 18.
Love this—especially the “won’t last until BD18” part. That’s exactly how we hope these show up: serious, layered, but still impossible to leave alone. Appreciate you taking a chance on us and for sharing your feedback. We hope to see you again - virtually or at our tasting room if you are in the area. Cheers!
Thanks for the kind words, Jay! The 2014 Ursa has been perfectly cellared and as you experienced, it is ready to drink now. I’m glad this wine was such a hit at the last Berserker Day for you and so many other Berserkers!!

I bought a case of the 2016 Arctos for the same price and love it also. I just so happen to be in the area in July, so I will be swinging by their tasting room for sure.
All of the Baer wines are excellent across the entire lineup. Ms. Orr’s own label wines as well. I think I need to head over to Jay’s house when I’m in NYC in a few weeks to verify his notes…
Only if you promise not to bring ay wine. My neurologist just told me that I will never finish all the wine I own, and I told her that had been true for the last 5-10 years.
