2012 Gouges - Help me decide

I’ve been offered Gouges’ 2012 Pruliers for what seems like a very good price ($50 a bottle). I haven’t tried their 2012’s and, to be frank, I have limited experience with their Pruliers. I am well versed in their LSG and Vaucrains and am awfully tempted, at this price, to explore their version of Pruliers. Any thoughts / advice on this wine in particular or Gouges’ 2012 line up in general are much appreciated.

Their Pruliers is good Paul and the price is outstanding. I have not tasted their 12’s yet but I suspect the vintage will suit the house style and allow an early peek.

I tasted the 2012 Pruliers, Clos de Porets and Les St. Georges this spring and was absolutely blown away by all three of them (quite a bit better for my taste than 2012 Chevillon). The Pruliers and Clos de Porets, I saw on par, the Pruliers a bit more red-fruited, light, airy, the Clos de Porets with more of a mix of red and dark fruit and earthy notes as well. The Les St. Georges was magnificent, very complete, for me a bit better than the 2012 Les St. Georges from Chevillon and Thibault Liger-Belair (I have a soft spot for the Les St. Georges from Alain Michelot and I saw their '12 Les St. Georges just a bit below the Gouges one). I’ll certainly buy some 2012 Gouges (including Pruliers) once I get the offer from my merchant of trust.

“Peek”, right?

Not “peak” - this is Gouges we’re talking about, right?

Thanks for the input fellas. Extremely helpful.

Paul,
In my opinion, Pruliers is Gouges’s best wine after Les St-Georges and Vaucrains.
I mean, I like it a lot.

Anything from Gouges is a no brainer IMO. This vineyard is particularly nice.

Go for it, looks like great price for a 12.

Buy what you can in 12 from great producers. After your satisfied you can always move them later if you wish.
