2012 Faiveley Latricieres , Gevrey-Chambertin

Perhaps my favorite grand cru red burgundy. I opened this up in honor of a booked tour of his winery ill be doing in the fall.

Aromas are dark currants, blood oranges, stony minerality and some sauvage coming through. On the palate im still getting the nice fruit but its joined by earth notes.

The wine is at an interesting cross section. The fine tannins are met by tge pomegranate, blood orange but with humus notes.

I had this with roasted Arctic char and rapini.
