2012 Duck Commander Triple Threat Red Blend

2012 Duck Commander Triple Threat Red Blend

With a lot of swirling this gives up some red fruit and spice aromas. Some candied red fruit flavors at first, a bit lacking in the mid-palate, surprising burst of acid on the short, fairly dry finish. Not at all sorry this was my only bottle (a gag birthday gift from some non-geeks) but I’ve tasted much worse. 86 points on Cellartracker, up from 78 points for the 2011 vintage, so 2012 is a much better bottle if you are wanting a case or two.
Anyway, this went in the braise for some short ribs we are serving tomorrow. I know some of you would say to pair the dish with the same wine used to prepare it, but after taking one for the team on this bottle that obviously needs more time, I have a 2005 Château Rayas Côtes du Rhône Château de Fonsalette Cuvée Syrah on deck.

Cheers!
Have a good weekend.

Love that the family is “devout” Church of Christ and does not drink.

Anything for the almighty dollar and branding.

And a granddaughter is on Dancing with the Stars, so I guess there will also be some dancing and revealing outfits to talk about at church.

Moonshine doesn’t count as “drinking” does it?

They don’t drink? I believe I’ve seen them toasting with wine. I think I’ve heard that the older one was an alcoholic in the past and now doesn’t drink.
