This gets great review notes on CT. I must be drinking an off bottle. I get nothing from this wine. Minimal aromatics and pretty much a flat, simple, boring drink. Plenty of acid and I put it to test with some food, but that did not help like I was hoping. Maybe it will show more on day 2.
Yes, likely a flawed bottle. Great wine for the price. A regular drinker for me.
I bought a half case after trying a bottle. It was pretty tight when I had it and I’m laying away the half case, so I’m not surprised if you found it not very giving. But it’s got a lot of stuffing and great balance, I thought.
Footnote: I opened a bottle of the 09 recently that was showing a bit hot. I think that was better on release two or three years ago.
I’ve enjoyed close to a case of this over the last year or so. Great weeknight wine and at $14 is a steal. I find it has good ripe fruit, a great mineral edge and a nice floral perfume on the nose with just enough acid and tannin to remind you it’s from Peidmonte. It’s usually good to go with PnP – no decant or air needed. However, the last bottle I had was much less giving and had much firmer tannins. I wonder whether there’s a new lot that just came on the market?
I’ve had three very good bottles. First vintage that I’ve bought this and won’t be the last.

2011 G.D. Vajra Langhe Rosso - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC (2/20/2015)
Garnet colored. No sediment in the bottle. Nose had cherry, strawberry and raspberry with a definite sanguine element. Palate was vibrant with mineral, cigar ash and red cherry. Good back-end acidity and fine grained tannins on the finish. (90 pts.)

Hey, look at that, I snuck in my very first WB tasting note! 
If you drink this particular wine too cold, it won’t give much. And it does not usually hold up on day 2, unless you use a quality preservation system. But it is a brilliant wind for the price. Probably my most frequent purchase, other than maybe Produttori del Barbaresco’s standard Barbaresco.
My bottle on day 2 was actually better than day 1. But still flat and not giving anything. Saved some for day 3. It sounds like I got got a bad bottle, not that it technically flawed from what I can tell. Still have a glass left for day 3.
