2010 Release Cabernet - tasting experience (ie. something less than a tasting note)

This is a new label and I’m fairly certain 2010 is the initial offering. I believe it is the product of Alpha Omega’s assistant winemaker, Henrik Poulsen, and Erik Ackerman, the estate director from Cardinale/Lokoya. Anyway, we somehow came into possession of several bottles and thought we’d break one open this weekend. It was a lower alcohol, more refined cabernet than much of what we tend to consume. That said, everyone on hand was suitably impressed. While still far too young, I think it holds some real promise. In fact, it was the wine of the night for 3 of my four guests, followed by a 2007 Vogt Vineyard, Nickel and Nickel, which everyone also felt was very good. Unfortunately, I failed to record any detailed notes, but when I found no mention of this wine anywhere on site, I thought I’d at least mention the tasting.

Price point?

$65 a bottle.
