2010 R. Belland Pommard Le Cras

I found 4 bottles of this at a local grocery store for a low price. Have never tried any wines from Belland but since it was a 2010, I bought them. When I got home with the bottles I read the Meadows review. To my dismay he described the wine as being marked excessively by the oak treatment. We opened a bottle at dinner time and I hoped that it was going to be ok / acceptable. No such luck.

The nose has nothing but oak on it, no fruit no perfume no florality. Nothing but oak, the palate was only slightly better. There is still an overwhelming oak character to the palate with some nice ripe red fruits hiding in the background. A disgusting wine and for me totally undrinkable. The remaining three bottles are going to be returned. Yuck…
