2010 DOMAINE COCHE-DURY , C & R COCHE . - (10/20/2013)

Jean-François Coche son Raphaël has taken the reins with his wife, Charline, and continue the Domaine Coche-Dury. The 2010’s Coche-Dury are rare wines and more impossible to find. The wines tasted are very young and need at least 10 years.

All wines were decanted 6 hours in advance, the 2010 Corton-Charlemagne was not released yet.

  • 2010 Coche-Dury Bourgogne-Aligoté - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne-Aligoté
Very precise and mineral, the yellow stone fruits aromas and flavors are beautifully articulated and high-toned. Clean and refreshing ! (89 pts.)

  • 2010 Coche-Dury Bourgogne Blanc - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc
Bright citrus and floral notes with great minerality and acidity, the style and character of the year are in evidence in this 2010 Bourgogne Blanc. Refined and quite pleasing now and over the next 10 years. (90 pts.)

  • 2010 Coche-Dury Puligny-Montrachet Enseignères - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet
Intensely pointed and mineral and tight with bright hidden fruit. Surprisingly the Puligny was the more tight and less given bottle of the line-up! A recent bottle of the 2006 was firing on all cylinders. (91 pts.)

  • 2010 Coche-Dury Meursault - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault
Clean and intensely mineral, bright citrus, white flowers and lovely tension in this ac Meursault from the Narvaux parcel. Great focus on the long bright finish. (92 pts.)

  • 2010 Coche-Dury Meursault Les Rougeots - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault
Very concentrated, rounder and more inviting than the Narvaux at this stage. With yellow stone fruits in a rich, explosive and impressive style! (93 pts.)

  • 2010 Coche-Dury Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
A blend of lemon, citrus and white flowers with high-toned acidity. The stony finish is intense and very long. A wine that stands out for its power, precision and depth. (94 pts.)

  • 2010 Coche-Dury Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
The Perrières explodes on the palate with a head-spinning array of bright flavors. An extra dimension of minerality and acidity, with all of the vineyard signatures. The finish is exceptional concentrated and long. A spectacular Perrières ! (96 pts.)

  • 2010 Coche-Dury Bourgogne - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne
The 2010 Bourgogne Rouge is a lovely wine with pure red fruit and a lovely texture. This isn’t a super complex wine, but it is absolutely delicious. (89 pts.)

  • 2010 Coche-Dury Pommard Les Vaumuriens - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard
First vintage of the Coche Pommard was 2003 and the last will be 2012. This 2010 is another expressive, open red, with a blend of red and black fruit, concentrated, super balanced and elegant on the palate with ability to age! (90 pts.)

My sincere thanks to Wijnkooperij de Lange, Coche-Dury importer since 1978 and Moritz Peeters, Wijnhandel Peeters for this great tasting.

Thanks

Outstanding! Thanks for sharing.

Nice, but they don’t need 10 years, in my opinion.

2010 Coche-Dury a massively successful vintage for both reds and whites, I think 2000 and 2006 is drinking the best now! And maybe 1997 and 2003!

Tasting the different wines of Coche-Dury was an amazing experience. Each level of his wines excels above other producers equivalent levels in my mind. Each bottle was definitely Coche signature some with far more forward minerality and razor sharp while others a bit more lush and rounded. The 10 Meursault Perrieres is that big and amazing!

I think most of the 2010 wines ( starting from premier cru ) need 10 years or more .

very special, I can only imagine, and to taste so many 2010s. Thanks for sharing, Barry.
