After a slightly disappointing 2009 and one badly corked bottle of the 2010 I am delighted to report that when on the 2010 CV is a wonder and a delight. It combines a weightless texture with chalky minerality interlaced with citrus and a long satisfying finish.
Recently had the chance to try the 2013 vintage, delicious stuff.
I can’t recall which vintage I had a few months ago - it may have been the 10, and yeah, it was pretty special Albarino. A really great combination of light texture and dense layering.
Great stuff…would love to start a “Lets talk about Albarino”.
I’m surprised about the '09, I had a stunning one just a couple weeks ago.
In general, what’s the consensus on cellaring the Cepas Vellas?
Thanks.
IMO, there is a vast improvement with 4-5 years in the cellar. I keep intending to cellar bottles longer than that to see if there’s another gear but can’t seem to manage it.
Check the date on the original post.
Caught me too. I always head my post From the archive if I bring up an old thread.
Kinda hard to source in USA for now.
Slight diversion but is anyone finding Soalheiro?
