Never heard of it, but Black Sheep, my local shop in Harpswell, had it at a reasonable price. It’s just over half Cab, 1/3+ Merlot, with dollops of Petit Verdot and Malbec.
Color has good intensity but some bricking. The aromas are plums and earth all the way. The palate is moderately rich, the flavors add slight herbal touches and some oak. There is good acidity but substantial tannins that will hopefully resolve with a few more years. This was a good accompaniment to duck fried rice from Empire in Portland, Maine. Rated 87 on opening, 88.5 a few minutes later, up to 2 points of improvement possible. I was happy to find something with some bottle age, even though this is probably short of peak.
