I’ve got all my guys bought. The only new guys I haven’t bought before are Ciacci Piccolomini Pianrosso, Beccinetti La Saporia and Marroneto. The other guys I already have verticals of. Hoping the Pianrosso isn’t too modern. I bought 3 of everything except grabbed 4 each of Talenti & Tenuta Di Sesti.
Biondi Santi
Talenti
Il Poggione
Tenuta Di Sesti
Mastrojanni
Ragnaie
Costanti
Il Marroneto
Ciacci Piccolomini Pianrosso - new to me
Baccinetti La Saporia - new to me
Canalicchio di Sopra Brunello di Montalcino (just added 3 of these too)
Glad you stepped up to the plate. You’ll have to pop some open and tell us what kind of ‘paradigm’ you find
I am most curious about Mastrojanni, because they’re wines never seemed to merit more than a 92 or so in the point-scale before Suckling anointed this vintage so highly.
I was interested in Baccinetti La Saporia also. Did you just take a flyer on it from KL? Pretty glowing reviews for the price point. I wonder if this has the stuffing to last?
I just took a flyer on this because of the price point and because O Keefe mentioned it as an up and comer in her book. Hoping it leans traditional. I only grabbed 3 so no big risk. Has anyone else reviewed it?
What’s up with Il Poggione anyway??? I only grabbed 3 because ALL of my wine buddies have made it their buy too and it shows up at every offline. I paid $40 and can’t believe its going for more than $50. Is it the new Clos Des Pape of Brunello???

No idea what the points were. I bought them because I liked them and they weren’t crazy expensive. Finished my last 1999 about 2 years ago and it was great. Wish I’d bought more.
Tasted a few of the recent vintages and they’re on point IMO. The winemaker said the new owners haven’t changed anything about the vinification, etc., and the wines are expected to be the same as always.
Just received an interesting email from my father, who lives near Montepulciano, and drinks a lot of the local stuff - one of his favs is Avignonesi. They just announced a 2011 “Grandi Annate” Vino Nobile. Might be interesting… 59 EUR.
