Anyone jumping on board? I’ve grabbed a few traditionally styled producers like Il Poggione and Tenuta Di Sesta that I usually buy. Looks like pretty good value to be had.
I just bought three each of Uccelliera and Ciacci this morning. I’ll probably loop back for more Uccelliera later when I save my pennies.
The prices are only a shade higher than recent vintages, if at all, and by all accounts the wines are great. I’ll admit, I’m going off the hype a bit and haven’t tasted them, but then the producers I like (Uccelliera, Lisini, Fuligni, Ciacci) seem to make good wines in all but the washout type vintages like 2002, so since I’m not paying a premium, I’m not worried about it.
Backfilling with 2006.
'10 Salvioni is on sale at PC today 2/19 only. 25% off = $97.50/btl.
Lol, those are my exact favorite four Brunello producers. I don’t buy a lot of Brunello so I stick pretty much to them. Prices for 2010 seem very attractive. Who needs the Piedmont?
Il Poggione for me for sure. Likely going to get a dozen so I can follow it for years. After that, I dunno. Might shift focus to getting as much 2010 Chianti as I can before it’s all gone.
I have purchased 6x Salvioni and 6x Colleoni Santa Maria 2010.
And Will buy Casanova DI Nova White label and Lisini, querce Bettina and Armilla and Maybe a fre others.
I bought a six pack each of Uccelliera and La Serena. Still looking to purchase Ciacci, Pertimali, Il Poggione and probably a few others.
Going deeper than I did in 2006. Tasted over 50 Brunelli last month and most were superb.
Wish I had that opportunity. What did you like?
I posted here. A good thread on 2010 2010 Brunello di Montalcino from Benvenuto Brunello (LONG) - WINE TALK - WineBerserkers
