So, I’ve heard for the nearly three years I’ve been drinking wine comments like “it’s not as bad as Yellow Tail”. Well, I get it now. It’s not good, if you have even a remote interest in wine, but I think most people drink it because it is “classier” than Boones Farm and for that crowd, this works.
Had this tonight at the Nets game. Served from magnum. No nose, no finish whatsoever. Lots of dark fruit in the mouth with a little wood, but not much to speak of. I totally get how this sells. It’s big, sweet and fruity and doesn’t conflict with food because it disappears at the midpalate. It goes down like a Sierra Mist or Sprite Zero does. I couldn’t finish a glass (or a plastic cup, to be more precise) but I get how other people how aren’t interested in wine do.
It’s the gateway drug to wine. I started off with Rosemount black diamond label and this. Phased this out pretty quickly, stayed with the Rosemount and went on to others. Definitely a crowd pleaser for those who aren’t into wine.
