2008 Bourgogne "Pressonniere" - Roty

2008 Bourgogne “Pressonniere” - Roty
Medium red with amber edge.
Interesting nose of cinnamon, menthol, black cherry with earthy undertones.
Firm, rather lean, bing cherry fruit with a long, spicy, earthy, oaky, tannic finish.
Normally I’m not too concerned about the backwardness typical
with this wine in it’s youth, but the tannin level is worrisome in this vintage.
Hopefully the tannin levels will decrease enough over the next several years to let the fruit shine through.
But somehow, I don’t think this will be the case.
No alternative but to let this age 4-8 more years and hope for the best [shrug.gif]
