2005 Smith Haut Lafitte Decanting Suggestions?

How early would you open this? There is some sediment and was thinking I would decant.


I’d sit it upright for a day then decant for a couple of hours. It’s probably in a really sweet spot for drinking now.

It was really great yesterday with a pop and pour, and of course, it opened up over the afternoon. I have some left over that I should try today. I don’t think you need to decant, especially not for long.

I know that it’s a different vintage, but 48 hours of standing up with my 2001 SHL drank over the weekend, not decanted, and the 15% left at the bottom was dumped with gristly sediment.
