Dark crimson in the glass. Nose shows plums, cassis and other textbook Cabernet qualities. I should have stopped there. The wine is linear and unbalanced with a big shot of dark fruit on the initial sip and through the mid palate leading to major alcoholic heat on the finish obscuring any tannic or acidic complexity or structure.
I continue to be unimpressed with the wines from Long Shadows and am generally a fan of Dunn Cabs, but this could not be more different than one of those.
