2005 Girardin - Corton - Renardes - excellent nose of cherries and blackberries.
Lovely fruit flavors and decent length.
Profound - no. But absolutely enjoyable wine with great fruit and admirable length.
Some people may disparage a lower tier negociant wine like Girardin, but this is quite a lovely wine, and at $53/bottle, represents one of the better wine purchases I’ve made in my life.
For the same price, I might actually get more enjoyment drinking 20 bottles of this wine than one bottle of premier cru Mugnier, one of my favorite producers.
