2005 Gevrey Chambertin “Champs Chenys” (Roty)
Medium red with an amber edge.
Fine, smokey bacon nose.
Firm, yet open, spicy oaked blackberry fruit with a long, dry, black licorice finish.
The best Roty Champs Chenys in my experience (BY FAR).
Surprisingly good now but will surely improve as the oak continues to subside over the next several years.
