2001 Pasanau Finca La Planeta

Really a lovely wine seemingly just entering a drinking window that won’t be closing anytime soon. Uncorked to very sweet fruit and while not Napa Cabernet this is not entirely foreign to the experienced Napa drinker either. With time the fruit faded (a lot) and the wine got chewier and more savory. Wine definitely needs meat protein as there are tannins galore still, and we had an aged grass-fed flat iron. Not our steak of the year but this combo worked like John Henry!

By report 80-90% Cab Sav and the rest Garnacha. I’d drink this again with pleasure. Fine drop on a nearly windless night on our west deck.
