2001 Azienda Monsordo Bernardina (Ceretto) Barolo Zonchera
The nose lets you know you are in Piemonte, tar and roses. A lot of red fruit and spice with citrus and some dusty tannins on the finish. Drinking nicely right now but plenty of time left for this wine. Certainly not a top tier producer but I had the itch for Barolo tonight and this was what I first pulled out of the Barolo section of the cellar. It scratched the itch.
