Worth it?
sold out
I guess it was…damn that was fast.
I can’t say whether I think it was worth it, but it was a great price relative to anything else I’m seeing.
Good price, almost what we paid for it 5 years ago.
Hah, Dan…I was hoping you’d chime in.
I pulled the trigger on one, figuring this would be a sub-20 minute offering. At least I don’t feel like an idiot for buying one.
We charged $3200 per case back in 2005, which, at that time, was a very strong price.
In 2009/10, Bordeaux will continue to slide, like many other categories.
An unrated Yquem has no chance to go up in value.
Any particular reason nobody rated this mother?
That was a question I asked back in 2005 and I never got a reason.
One plausible explanation is that 2001 was the first vintage that Critics tasted en primeur, as I recall, so maybe 2000 just slipped through the cracks?
IIRC, nobody reviewed the 1995 either.
which i think is a nice Yquem.
Agreed. Had it last year out of 375 mL and while not monumental, it was damn tasty.
i have had it 2-3 times from 375s, last after the NY Giants SB W, and that is how i think about the vintage too - not monumental but still a real step above the Premier Cru wines.
IIRC, nobody reviewed the 1995 either.
An awesome wine!
