2 very decent and inexpensive wines--both $9.95

NV Gloria Ferrer BDN is a wine that should get more recognition. It’s a well made sparkling wine, very much of a rose, but a BDN. Good bright red fruit, nice acidity, tiny bubbles. Purchased a case from HiTime.

2012 Light Horse Cabernet. This one comes from Jamieson Ranch, and it is their 2nd Cabernet. The first one is very good, and while it retails for $40, it can be had for $20. But the cheaper brother is half price and it is also quite tasty. My advice is that you open up the wine and leave it in the decanter until the next day. It will put on weight, the fruit will be darker, the finish will last longer. For $9.95 it is a serious easy drinking wine.

I second the Gloria Ferrer which is my house sparkler. $9.99 is a great price, however (although I see it on WS Pro at Hi Time). I get it for $14.44 with a case discount in the NY market. Don’t know how they make money at $9.99/750ml.

Hmmm at that price summer sparkling cocktails become a much more frequent treat. thanks for the heads up

If I see that BdN for 9.99 I’m backing up the truck and the boat.
