1995 Domaine Huet: Le Haut Lieu Sec (Loire, France).

Domaine Huet are my favourite producer of the chenin blanc grape (2008 vintage and earlier). Well made Vouvray of differing sweetness levels can age at a glacial pace. I opened this youthful 25 year old bottle on warm spring evening. Light gold, 12% alcohol. The waxy and fresh lime nose had a hint of walnut. The mouthfeel displayed a dry citrus freshness with a weighty body, waves of yellow plum gently flowing over my tastebuds. Perfectly drinkable now, this wine should continue to develop over the next 20+ years.
