Can get this off a restaurant list for $340…provenance should be excellent, and of course if it’s oxed or corked I could refuse it with no issue. But my question to board experts here is…is it even worth the effort to try that wine at that price point, even if the wine is sound? I’m not a Lafon expert, and doesn’t look like anyone drinks this wine on CT either? Should I check it out, or move on?
I would do that.

90s Lafon could be amazing.

Marks out of 2?
I drank this last about five years ago, dark golden and to me far too old and fat to give real pleasure.
Sounds like that bottle was premoxxed?
No,just old and it was typical of 90s Lafon; I enjoyed many when they were young. Premox seems much worse from 2000 onwards there, but it wasn’t and isn’t a style I’m crazy about anyway.
