1982 Talbot

Just picked up 2 btls. Has anyone had this recently. If so, let me know what you thought.

In good condition, a top ten Bordeaux of the vintage. In excellent condition, top ten of a leftime.

Had from 750 this year…amazing. From three liter last year…other worldly.

But, I am juvenile and immature.

Finally, we agree on something… [highfive.gif]

What do videos have to do with this discussion??? [wink.gif]

Joe, sorry to highjack your Talbot thread.
But it was just too fat a pitch for me to take.
It is a nice wine that is ready to go!

No worries. Thanks for your input.

Had one what feels like about a year ago, was in an awesome place.

Really really good. No real rush to drink but it is in a perfect place right now. Classic Bordeaux with a bit of the Cordier funk to add interest.

If well cellared a really awesome wine in perfect drinking window.
Just a hair´s space behind the Gruaud-L from the same stabel … (which isn´t that perfectly mature yet) …
(reminds me on the sad fact that I have only two left …)

It’s good but no way would it make my top 10 list even of the vintage. I also think '86 is better.

Agreed. It is an excellent wine, but in this vintage, it is an also ran.

I think the 86 is at least the equal to the 82, both wonderful wines.

Not really “recently”, but…fwiw…

9/12: short ribs. Beautiful and full of vibrant cab. fruit: cedar, a little veggie, leathery. Quite nice and balanced and even youthful relative to its age. A beauty of a wine and worth the wait. It would have lasted 5 more no problem, maybe 10.
