my friend always jokes only in france can you drink the most legendary wines out of the worst possible glasses.
Such a wonderful post on so many levels. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome Francois!
Belle histoire, bravo!
It’s what life is all about. I wish, one day, I get to share all the special bottles that I bought for my children.
Some of my greatest wine moments were with my two sons. I wish Leo the same with his darling children.
Thanks Peter, much appreciated! Not every day that one of us drinks a '45 Mouton, and if so, it should be in English!
Maybe a Mollydooker Shake was required
Muchas gracias, Señor Robert!
Kudos always welcome

Lovely story. Thanks to you I have been giving my older wines the 4 hour treatment. On 2 Jan I opened a 85 Lynch-Bages that had a totally saturated cork and the black top and black on the inside of the bottle. The color and smell were thin. But 4 hours later the wine was in classic form and my Sydney friends were quite surprised in its transformation-especially as they have very little experience with good aged Bordeaux.

Mark,
Thank you for your message.
The transformation of wines after a quiet standing can be very surprising.
I have had the experience of wines that I declared dead which were very lively and rewarding after some hours of slow oxygenation.
