what vintage was that pagliaro? any good?
It was an 2005 I brought, I thought it was drinking pretty well but it still needed several hours to open up. It was still pretty tannic but starting to soften as much as Sagrantino can, it still has lots of life ahead of it. The 99’ Quinterelli was drinking much better and was empty by the end of the evening. Had a great time and it was such a pleasure meeting more berserkers.
I’ve found pipparellos can’t age past 12-15 years. Surprised you had strong tannins with 2005 pagliaro. I’ve drank buckets of 2011 and they’ve been open for business.

I enjoy Bea’s wines also, it’s been a while since I had a Pagliaro but haven’t tried the 11’ vintage.
