100K point Amex Platinum (dead deal)

click on “offers matched for you” at top of left column. No need to put in your SS# on the next page. Follow link for 100k Amex Platinum. AN incredible deal that unfortunately i don’t qualify as I recently closed my amex platinum.

offers $200 airline reimbursement. Can sign up for 1 specific airline per calendar year. Can even buy $200 worth of American Airlines gift cards and have it all reimbursed. Then on january 1st of 2014, buy another $200 worth. feel free to close the account after this credit posts next year. In this example, you get 100k amex points and $400 worth of AA gift cards for a net of $50

I was reading one of the travel bloggers earlier this evening about this credit card offer from AMEX. I’ve been waiting for a long time to jump on an AMEX offer that was rich with miles. There’s no guarantee that Amex will offer you this particular card. You’ll have to enter your information to find out.

Membership Rewards transfer to lots of airlines (domestic and international) + a few hotel chains. For those of you with good credit, or haven’t applied for an AMEX card within the past 12 months, this is an exceptional deal. Here’s a link to the airline partners. Keep in mind, once you move miles into an airline program, you’ll be able to use those miles on partner airlines within the alliance.

Jordan, thanks for reminding me.

i tried it without SSN and it won’t load for me saying it can’t find a match.
i wasn’t willing to try with SSN as i have a Amex Plat now so i can’t apply anyways but was just curious…

I entered my info and the 100K deal came up.
shows an annual fee of $450.00
the gold card below is showing 50K for a 1K spend and no fee.

I would still do the platinum as those extra 50k are worth at minimum $500. Unfortunately I can’t as I just cancelled mine 2 months ago. Hoping for a good offer to upgrade my business gold to platinum. So far they are only offering 25k. Not enough

thanks Jordan I will give it some thought.

I think this is a targeted offer. I signed up last year with a targeted 100k offer. Lots of benefits including the airline credits. Reimbursement for global entry which allows you to bypass the custom lines, status on some car rental agencies and Starwood, lounge access on select airline carriers, priority pass select, access to Amex’s fine hotels and resorts, lots of cruise benefits and $25 credit for small business Saturday. For me, well worth the annual fee, but most are travel benefits. If you don’t travel much, probably not worth it. The points guy has a ton of info on this card as he’s always pimping it for his referral commission.

did it. thanks.

This was a targetted offer as of last year. I was an additional cardholder in my wife’s Platinum card. I got a mailed the offer for the Gold Card, no annual fee, 50k miles and when I entered my information, the page opened a pop-up offering the 100K Platinum with $495 annual fee. I stuck with the 50K Gold Card free card as we get the other Platinum benefits that we need from wife’s card. We also were able to consolidate our cards and points.

Wow. I’m already a Platinum AMEX for the travel benefits (the $200 airline fee goes a long way as does the free entry to First Class Clubs and random upgrades), but I might get the wife to apply as she’s not an AMEX member.

Man do I wish I could reapply for a new card and get the miles.

I was reading the fine print on AmEx’s website. Amongst other verbiage the fine print states:

“Get up to $200 in Airline Fee Credits annually to cover incidental fees” and “Airline tickets, upgrades, mileage points purchases, mileage points transfer fees, gift cards, duty free purchases, and award tickets are not deemed to be incidental fees.”

Do you have to do some kind of trick to get them to reimburse for gift cards?

the entry to the airline club lounges has a $27.00 fee per person.
Jordan- I would also like to know how the AA gift cards can be reimbursed.

entry into AA, Delta, US Airways lounges is free. 1 guest or immediate family included. Don’t need to be traveling with US AIr to use their clubs. You also get priority pass to enter many other lounges around the world. Admission for card holder is also free. Any additional guests is $27/person.
As far as the gift cards, you can buy them online. Even though it says you can’t be reimbursed for AA gift cards, apparently, however it is coded, you still get the refund. I bought a $50 card and waited for the credit to post. Then went ahead and bought the other $150 worth. Google it and you will see.

Gift cards work. i have the amex plat, and got Alaska gcs and got the credit.

but again, not sure how you guys see it. i enter the info WITHOUT SSN, and nothing comes up. i didn’t want to try with SSN. :frowning:

i also got the offer without SS# last night.

however, it appears the deal is dead. gotta act fast on these

Need to be careful, however, as not all airlines work with the credit. United works every time, but you have to buy in $50 increments. That’s how I used my last $200 worth of credit, for 2012. I suppose I’ll end up doing the same this year. Also, keep in mind that some airlines have certificates, not gift cards, and those such as United as very easy to use, as they are fully electronic. One major carrier - I believe it is Delta - requires you go to to the AIRPORT to buy physical paper certificates, which also have to be redeemed in person at the airport. Who the heck buys a ticket at the freakin’ airport anymore?

How does one apply for credit without a SS#?

Todd, it’s an offer link we’re talking about at a third party site… that’s why i didn’t want to put in SSN in some ‘website’ just to see if an amex link shows up.

of course if the link shows up, you click through and apply, you will need SSN…

meaning the offer appears on the credit cards.com page without giving them your SS#. Still of course need to enter it on the CC app page.
