09 Lagaria Pinot Grigio

Why bother writing up a cheap, widely available, industrial wine?

Because it’s good!

Bought for a blind tasting, this has moderately intense but subtle aromas of hay with some floral touches. On the palate it is balanced, with tender fruit (pear, apple) and surprising heft. There is actually a mineral component. The finish is a little short. No, it’s not a heavyweight. Yes, I have had better (much much much better) Pinot Grigios. But at under $10 this is a steal. Rated 87.58.
