I had this a few months ago and it was completely impenetrable. When people talk about a wall of tannin and acid, they are talking about this wine. Although I don’t have experience aging TdL, I would guess this needs a decade minimum, and probably more like three.

A ton of this wine on sale in PA as a Chairman’s Selection for $59.99. This always raises 2 issues in my mind: (1) Probably not one of the better vintages of this wine, and (2) Can probably be found for less money elseware. Per Wine Searcher, anywhere from 49.99 to 119.99.

I was lucky enough to snag a couple bottles of this at $40, though am under the impression that it will need a very long sleep. Sounds like you’ve confirmed this, will rehide the bottles…
